Hello Dolls!

I am currently working on compiling the information I took away from Whimsycon this weekend as well as some footage so in the meantime, I have a video for you from my new series called "Waxing Moon Sessions" a series largely focused on studying and self improvement (big surprise, haha!)

Here is a look into my “Sekrit Sketchbook” at some 5 minute cat studies! You can watch their process in the video while I talk about why I am doing more quick studies and how they are helping me. <3

Last year, I had a deal with myself to post a LOT more, and I am happy to say that I did accomplish that. But recently, I wanted to take a new look at my priorities and I decided that I would prefer to post a little less, in favor “cleaning up” my social media and showing things that were a little more refined and “beautiful” on my profile. That being said, I hate the idea of hiding behind a mask of, “Everything is perfect all the time,” (though my work is obviously far from perfect but you know what I mean), which is why I still like showing the rough stuff in my Instagram stories and why I am particularly passionate about making these little, “Sekrit Sketchbook” posts. If anyone here, artist, musician, writer, etc. Struggles with self doubt, fear, low self esteem/low view of your work, I want to make it blatantly clear that you are not alone. I struggle with the same things and I am going to show you as much of that as I can in what I hope will be a positive and uplifting way. I really want these posts to be very honest and raw because I genuinely want to encourage you, as you have encouraged me. I hope you enjoy these rough sketches and more personal insights into my work. Nothing dies, and nothing is ever created. In other words, everything is built on something else and creating does not BEGIN with perfection (nor does it ever truly attain it in my opinion ;)
