Sadness and melancholy are often emotions we hope to avoid. But when we deny them their place within us, we become incomplete. The owl, unlike other birds, prefers to embrace the solitude of night. Going there into that uncomfortable dark unafraid because she knows it holds everything she needs. I invite you to allow for the exploration of your own sadness next time it comes. Feel it, let it wash over you and recede. Everything has its cycle.

Material: Watercolor and metal leaf in a glass and metal locket.
Care: These pieces can absolutely be worn and were made to be! of course like any glass locket, dropping them will likely result in damage. The art has a UV varnish over it but any contact with liquid should be avoided, as should opening the delicate hinge on the locket.
Please note that the actual locket is also a handmade item from another maker. Lovely flaws of the human hand such as slight textures or scuffs on the metal are occasionally present.
