This listing is for the original painting Night is the Mother

Once, a child named Plum awoke from a nightmare in a world of nothing, and her scream was a monster of indigo and violet, starlight and dark shadows. Her shivering breath was a being of soft golden feathers and light, and the two creatures led a chase around the earth with made it turn.

With each passing day, the darkness pursued the light, finally swallowing it to make the evening shadows, and then giving birth to a new day every morning. This gave the world age and movement, for Day is the child of stars and Night is the mother.
