Purge the Smoke - Original Watercolor Painting
You know how coming to terms with your own pain, can be almost as painful as the pain itself? That is a lot of pain! But it gets better.
Ongoing pain in our lives can eat away at us mentally and physically. So often, we build these problems up bigger and bigger until we cannot find a way out. This is particularly dangerous when the situation is already deeply woven into our life such as a long term relationship, or a necessary means of survival like a job, or living situation that we feel we cannot help.
For everyone, the means of escape is going to vary but admitting that there is a problem and working to overcome is often the most difficult step.
For this, I used the symbolism of the mink piercing his head with a spear and allowing the negative energy to leak out. It is painful, and that is okay. In purging the negativity, he clears his mind and allows room for answers.
Opening up, and coming to terms with your own turmoil can be extremely difficult. But a small period of pain is far better than a lifetime of suffering.
