This listing is for the original drawing In the Maw of the Cosmos

It’s come in the night, you pray it leaves soon

Restless and running from a light you won’t see

Heart pounding distortion makes a monster of the moon

The cosmic growl of the kismet you can no longer flee

In a recent dream, I was surrounded by three large canids, wolf hybrids of some sort.  They were seemingly friendly, but they had this intense wild undercurrent that made me fear them.  I kept throwing a bag of potato chips for them to fetch and they’d rapidly race after it, their paws thunderous on the ground beneath their deep throaty growls.  Each time they’d bring the chips back I’d throw them again as far as I could, hoping to keep the creatures away from me without them realising my fear but every time they’d come racing back, chips in mouth as I slowly realised I couldn’t truly escape them.

This dream was the first of many similar ones that rapidly followed in the weeks thereafter.   It left me thinking of the ways in which we often fear the changes and opportunities that can be best for us. Holding onto those fears until they grow into great beasts we’ve no choice but to interact with. What are you running from?  Will you turn around and face it?
